Sam grew up in Denver, CO where he lived for the first 18 years of his life. After high school he moved to Glenwood Springs, CO to attend Colorado Mountain College. In the Western Slope there is no shortage of outdoor activities and he decided to major in Outdoor Education. This will be Sam's second season with RMYC and the first leading youth in trail work. Sam has a slight travel addiction travelling to Thailand, Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Colombia.
