The Perfect Break Time Nap: A Guide

Author: Silas Sweeten, Mikey Crew

First, you’re going to want to find a nice tree, preferably an Aspen or a Fir Tree (less bark to annoy you), the tree needs to be tall enough to provide nice shade. Now personally I believe that the perfect body position has your back against the tree with shade casting over your face but you’ll want your lower body to be in the sun so you get that nice cat nap feeling while making sure you don't get too cold if a sudden cloud or breeze blows through. Just before you settle down I recommend having a small snack, perhaps a granola bar. Lastly, set a timer on your watch or phone for a few minutes before your break is up just to reorient yourself.

This power napping method is especially useful after a night of sliding down your sleeping pad after picking a less than ideal spot for your tent.
